A music school app for the office and the lesson
Music schools still run on paper, spreadsheets and chat groups. Teachers need a timetable and attendance. Parents need to know when a lesson moves. The office needs lists it can use. The data is about children as well as staff.
Appella is that product today, shipped by Appella UG in Weilheim. The product started in-house at Tapped.
What Tapped built
Appella began as an in-house Flutter app at Tapped: a client for iOS and Android with an accompanying backend. We worked out the concept and the first features ourselves.
- Dashboard. Sick notes, timetable changes, open attendance entries, upcoming lessons with time, room and student lists.
- Timetable. Rooms, times, cancellations. Creating lessons stayed in Musikschul-Manager by Computersysteme Otter. The app showed the plan and sent changes back through a cloud interface.
- Attendance. Teachers recorded presence in the app, with notes. The office could read the lists.
Appella is now much more extensive and an independent company.
